Lent is a season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. It begins on Ash Wednesday and lasts for about six weeks. It is a call to penance, reflection, and preparation to celebrate the Lord’s resurrection at Easter.

You can commemorate the season of Lent in your Catholic homeschool through the reading of Sacred Scripture, abstaining from meat on Fridays, and creative activities that help children connect with the the season. This book list also is a great start to incorporating more activities into your home during the holy season of Lent.
