Catholic Homeschooling in Nevada

How to Homeschool in Nevada

It is easy to homeschool in Nevada, as it has low-regulation state laws governing home education. Compulsory school age is 7-18. To start homeschooling, follow these steps:

1. File a one-time notice of intent with the superintendent of your local school district.

2. Teach the required subjects to your children, including English, reading, composition, and writing, math, science, and social studies, history, geography, economics, and government.

There are no other requirements such as teacher qualifications, assessments, or immunization requirements.

Nevada State Department of Education Home School Information
Nevada law provides for a waiver of the compulsory attendance laws and procedures for parents to follow, including details about filing the notice of intent. All notice of intent to homeschool forms must be submitted to the school district in which the child resides.
