There are some steps to take to legally homeschool in North Carolina:
1. Submit a notice of intent to homeschool to the North Carolina Division of Non-Public Education (DNPE) only once, when you establish your homeschool.Â
2. Homeschool teachers must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.Â
3. Operate your homeschool for at least 9 calendar months each year.Â
4. Keep immunization and attendance records.Â
5. Test your child using a nationally standardized test once a year.Â

The Regina Caeli homeschool hybrid program provides students with a combination of in-person classroom learning and at-home homeschool instruction. Parents follow the classical education curriculum at home three days a week. Students attend classes taught by tutors using the Socratic method on the remaining two days a week.
