Sacred Heart of Jesus

Month of June

June Sacred Heart

When someone says you have their heart, it means that they love you completely. We know this of Jesus towards us. The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a meditation on the love of Christ for us. The heart is considered the center of our human feelings and understanding, the deposit of love.

From the first beat in the womb of Mary to the final beat on the cross, Christ’s heart kept the steady rhythm of love. At the Ascension, instead of leaving his earthly body behind, he ascended in his full humanity. Thus, we will encounter the Sacred Heart of Jesus in its material form in Heaven.

Children respond well to a devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is simple to begin with encouraging our children to say, “I love you Jesus with my whole heart.” From there, an understanding of the fullness of Christ’s love to us naturally follows.

You can encourage devotion to the Sacred Heart in your home and domestic church with these ideas, activities, and prayers.
