June
“Do not let the past disturb you. Just leave everything in the Sacred Heart and begin again with joy.”
~ St. Teresa of Calcutta
The month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Solemnity is celebrated on the Friday following the second Sunday after Pentecost. The term “Sacred Heart of Jesus” calls to mind both the divine and human love that Christ shows us. The pierced heart of Jesus created forth the Church. Saint John Chrysostom explains it this way, “Water and blood symbolized baptism and the holy eucharist. From these two sacraments, the Church is born.”
